Who I Am

I am an environmentalist…

…because I care about this planet. I worry about the damage humans inflict on it. I worry that we will leave this planet bruised and broken for future generations.

I am an animal rights activist...

…because I don’t believe that humans are superior to animals. I don’t think we should use and abuse animals just because we can. I hate zoos. I hate circuses. I don’t agree with animal testing of any kind, especially for cosmetics. Why should an animals suffer so you can look a little less ugly today?

I am a vegetarian…

…because animals are cruelly treated and brutally killed so you can eat a steak wrapped in bacon. I despise factory farms and refuse to support the  industry. The animals are mistreated, confined, injected with antibiotics and hormones, they suffer from health issues due to the confinement, stress, and selective breeding. And they are often abused by despicable human beings who have to take out their anger on helpless animals.

I am for gay rights…

…because it’s really none of your business if Adam loves Steve instead of Eve. Marriage should be between two consenting human adults….and if those two adults happen to be men, who cares? If a same sex couple wants to adopt a child? Great. I don’t have a problem with that. Gays in the military? Again, I have no problem with that. If you have a problem with any of it…you are a bigot. And you are an asshole.

I an anti-theist…

…because I don’t like when religious people try to have creation taught in public schools. I don’t like when religious people say that we need to put God back in the schools and have school prayer. I don’t like when the religious tell me to “put Christ back in Christmas”. You want YOUR creation story taught, you want YOUR God and YOUR prayers in school….the Christian God. Well, not everyone is Christian. And despite what you tell yourself or what you hear on Fox News, this is NOT (and never has been) a Christian Nation. I have a problem with people teaching their children that the Earth is 6,000 years old, that humans lived side-by-side with Dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden and that Noah’s Ark was not only a true story, but that the flood is what caused the Grand Canyon. Stop! You are creating a generation of idiots.
